Treatment of skin problems

The cause of such skin problems as acne, atopic dermatitis (eczema), hyperpigmentation (melasma) and many others may lie in a malfunction of certain organs and systems. For example, the cause of acne may not only be bacteria trapped in skin pores, or microorganisms living on the skin, but also different conditions such as hormonal imbalances, polycystic ovary syndrome, malnutrition, stress, or certain medications (corticosteroids, testosterone, etc.).

Also, increased production of melanin in different areas of the skin may be caused by excessive sun exposure, pregnancy, hormonal changes, blue light from screens and electronic devices, disorders of the adrenal glands, etc.
In order to treat the skin condition properly, more in-depth analysis than just a superficial skin examination is required.

Approach to treatment of skin problems

Dr. Aleks Letnikovs’ approach is not limited by an aesthetic (superficial) elimination of certain skin disorders. When not diagnosed and left untreated, the main health problem or the real causes of the skin problems will manifest themselves again by provoking the initial complaints and symptoms. In addition, this is not a healthy way of living in the long term.

For example, instead of prescribing Roaccutane to adolescents in case of acne, it is better to start with an investigation of the digestion, hormonal status, and individual detoxification capacities of the patient. Likewise, instead of whitening the skin to get rid of pigmentation with different creams (gels) or undergoing a laser procedure, it is more effective to get a clear picture of the adrenal glands’ functioning and the level of certain hormones, and only then treat the cause and consequences accordingly.

“Even though in many cases it takes years or even decades for cancer to develop, most patients are diagnosed with cancer at a very late stage or when it is incurable. On the other hand, modern medicine provides various non-invasive diagnostic methods that allow doctors to identify some possible triggers before the cancer has developed.”
